Spiritual care team

The SonRise-New Life Spiritual Care Team serves the immediate spiritual and emotional needs of others right where they are. This often occurs during illness, injury, and death. Spiritual care also includes support by providing a calm and caring presence in the midst of an anxious time or experience. We provide comfort, prayer, spiritual guidance, and need-based referrals.

Spiritual needs and concerns may relate to questions of life, such as:

  • Why is this happening?
  • What does this mean?
  • How do I make sense of everything?
  • How will this change my life?
  • What do I trust? Who do I trust?

This loving support is accomplished through:

  • Online and In-Person Presence (church, home, or hospital)
  • Phone
  • Emergency Response
  • Sharing and Referring to the Bible
  • Administering Communion (church, home, or hospital)
  • Bereavement Support
  • Need-Based referrals may include family support, counseling, New Life Groups, hospitality care, religious leaders, or supportive community resources
